How could we do a guide without some of the newest and most popular key combinations of Windows 7?

First though, here is an interesting inclusion from Microsoft.

  • Win + Left/Right – Maximizes program to the preferred side of the screen
  • Win + Home – Reduces all windows and leaves only the active one
  • Win + Home Again – Restores the screen to its original look
  • Win + Number – launches corresponding application to number in Quick Lauch area
  • Win + Space – allows you to view your entire desktop by hiding all open application or allow you to quickly hide your activities by pressing Win + space bar. The activities only return on release of the WinKey
  • Win + Shift + Arrow – Move current window to alternate screen
  • Ctrl + Win + Tab – Open persistent task selection window, roll mouse over each icon to preview item and minimize others
  • Win + D – Minimize all windows and show desktop
  • Win + E - Opens computer drive folder
  • Win + F – Opens search
  • Win + G – Brings gadgets to forefront
  • Win + L - Locks the users screen
  • Win + M – Minimize the current window
  • Win + P – Opens menu for alternate screens or projectors
